sick shoutout goal !

I agree Colin, amazing skill set , my concern is the upper body strength
( being pushed off the puck to easily) and no not because he couldn't do a pull up.

I would think it's more core and leg strength you would need to remain balanced and in control of a puck, of course upper body strength helps but it's building that core strength and lowering the center of gravity that makes guys harder to knock off the puck in my mind.

Either way I also mirror your guys' comments and look forward to today's scrimmage.

Collin what are your thoughts on some of the other guys, Morgan Klimchuk, David Wolf, Austin Carroll, Patty Sieloff etc...? If you have this intended for a blog to come sorry for jumping the gun

Wish I could have attended camp this year...

I've been hearing a lot of people compliment Hunter Smith's skating, which is good to hear. I thought the pick was a bit of a stretch at first, but the more I find out about him the more I don't mind it.

Any word on how Mason MacDonald has looked? He's obviously still very raw, but I'd just be curious to hear how he's doing.

Looking forward to the scrimmage today....hopefully the stream works from the very beginning

On MacDonald, I've been hearing his lateral movement, positioning and glove hand are awesome, just needs development to round out his overall game because like you said he;s still very raw. It's nice to have some really noteworthy backstoppers in the system

I have a feeling Hunter Smith will be the Emile Poirier of this draft , and I'm really excited for Brandon Hickey from both a performance and a personal perspective. He's been said to have amazing silky smooth skating, Forward/Backwards doesn't matter and has really good defensive instincts if he could develop his offensive game a bit I think he could be another Gio-esque talent

I have plenty to say on all the above players....Going to see if Klimchuck can give me a few minutes for another interview sometime soon as well.

Was the Jankowski and Gilles hip injuries going to keep them off the ice for the whole camp?

Jon Gillies, Mark Jankowski, Adam Ollas Mattsson, Emile Poirier, and Garnet Hathaway are working with strength and conditioning coaches, watching practices...no word on whether or not any of them get a chance to hit the ice though.

He would have been the first forward off the board for me.

Appreciate the hard work Colin, hope next year to be able to attend Dev. Camp. Are there fan viewings during Training Camp in the next couple months? Might try to make it that if I have time!

Nice setup too by Smith at the end of the game to tie it with 2.1s left, Casey Bailey with the goal

I wonder if Mckewan will be available at 34 tomorrow. I have a feeling we will be selecting a defenceman with that pick.

Or Hunter Smith. (Truculence)

I posted this before the draft and was really happy when we selected Smith. I wasn't sure why people were so upset at first.

Well, you can see from my avatar that I was rooting for the Sabres to pick Bennett with the 2nd overall pick. I think at 4, the Flames got one hell of a player, I fully expect for him to be a premiere player soon enough. With Monahan, you guys have an awesome 1 - 2 punch down the middle for years to come!
I do hope you finish higher in the standings than the Sabrea ... We are gunning for McEichel (I am hoping for Eichel myself).

Mostly because everyone thought it was just for truculence, until realizing he posted 40 points in the OHL

As soon as the Flames drafted him that's exactly who I thought of, I especially made the connection when I saw the picture of him from the playoffs with full-beard. I thought I was looking at a young Burns.

He is a bit of a late bloomer but the big increase in points from last season to this season is good to see.
